Malaga's mostly round, but occassionally oblong roots are a very unusual colour--deep plum purple/violet, so pretty in contrast with the snow-white flesh that is often tinged in violet! The roots are mild and stay firm and crisp over a long season, but may bolt in the heat of mid-summer.
