Radicchio ‘Palla Rossa 3’ is valued for its reliability and striking colour. Compact, uniform heads form consistently and can be used young as baby leaves or left to mature. The deepest red tones appear in cool autumn weather, giving dramatic contrast in the garden and on the plate. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it thrives in containers, raised beds, or tucked between other plants, even in partial shade. Flavour is tangy yet sweet when grown in cooler months. This variety is not recommended for spring forcing.
