Endive is grown in a similar way to other leafy salad crops and grows well in the ground or in containers. Mature heads like Fine de Louviers are slower growing and larger than some varieties, taking around 2-3 months to mature. Sowing seeds little and often will provide you with steady harvests from late spring right through into winter. Endive grows best in a sunny location, although it will also tolerate partial shade in summer.
